After my story recently about managing storm water using planters<\/a>, I looked at some more Rain Chains – surely the most elegant way to move water from the roof to the ground.<\/p>\n

Water is lovely to listen to, and also pretty enough it should be looked at instead of hiding it inside an ordinary downspout that looks like it came from a hardware store!<\/p>\n

Rain chains manage this, as well as checking the torrential nature of rainfall somewhat. And even when not in use, they remain really attractive in their own right, a design accessory, like earrings \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

A good place to browse the world of rain chains is RainChainsWorld.com<\/a> in California, where I got the image of one of my favorite style, these lotus-shaped cups, made of copper of course.<\/p>\n

Houzz of course has some great home designs using rains chains – here’s a deceptively tranquil entrance way to an expansive coast home that uses these lotus chains:<\/p>\n

Here are some more designs using rain chains for water management. This arrangement to my mind is the perfect addition to add some contoured form to a very geometric theme:<\/p>\n
